Administrative users can add individuals who are authorized and/or those who are not authorized to pick up a child from a Child Care Program. Most districts require some type of proof when someone is being flagged as not authorized to pick up a child (i.e. custody agreements, court documents, etc). For that reason, un-authorized pick ups can only be added by staff from the Administrative side of the system.
You can add an authorized or un-authorized pickup directly under the Child Care Account using the Add Pickups button. It can be helpful to have an authorized pickup exist in the system before adding them as a pick up especially if there are multiple students being picked up by that person (so they will be able to sign out all students at once under the Kiosk tab). Search for the person using Contacts > People. If they are not in the system, they can be added by going to Contacts > People > Add User. To be added as an authorized pick up, you will need to include at least one contact phone number.
To add an Authorized or Un-authorized Pickup to the account:
- Point to Child Care.
- Select Accounts.
- Search for and select the Account to add a pickup.
- Select Show Account.
- From the Account show page, select Add Pickup
- In the top left, select the check boxes for the child/children the individual is authorized to pickup.
- Begin entering the name of the person Authorized to pickup the child. Select from the available names as it appears.
- Enter an un-authorized pickup if needed using the Add Un-Authorized Pickup. Note: If only adding an Un-Authorized Pick Up, use the red Remove icon to remove the blank entry field for Authorized Pick Up on the left (shown below).
- Repeat the steps to add as many authorized and/or un-authorized pick ups as needed (you can enter just one or more than one at the same time).
- Select Create.
To Remove an authorized or un-authorized pick up,
- Point to Child Care.
- Select Accounts.
- Search for and select the Account to remove a pickup.
- Select Show Account.
- Select the Pickups tab.
- Select the red Remove icon next to the person being removed.
Once the person has been added as an Un-authorized pickup, on the Attendance tab of the Child Care Attendance app, they will be displayed under the Child Info section as un-authorized (above the authorized pickups for the child). On the Kiosk tab, only the Authorized pickups will be listed (not the Unauthorized ones).
