When opening or closing a Site Section on the Child Care Attendance app, the attendance (including a time stamp and staff signature) is available within the Administrative side of the system (as long as the iPad is connected to wi-fi or cellular service).
The Staff Sign feature allows the app to capture a staff signature and time stamp for a group of students at once (vs checking in individual students one at a time). This feature is normally used at the beginning of an After School session (so all kids are checked in by staff with the same time stamp) or at the very end of an section to show all students were checked out with the same time stamp. It is recommended that staff capture parent signatures upon drop off or pick up whenever possible. Using the Staff Sign is optional and does not have to be done in order for students to be signed in by parents.
NOTE: When site staff open or close a site section, it is possible to modify the open or close time to align with actual open or close times at a location. As long as wi-fi signal is strong, the Administrative side will display updates on the Child Care Site Dashboard though it may appear as a delay if site staff modified the time backwards to reflect an earlier time stamp.
If an iPad is not connected to wi-fi or cellular service at the time attendance is recorded, the data is stored on the app and synchronized during the next connection to the wi-fi.
If you encounter any issues with the app, please check the wi-fi status in the iPad Settings menu. If you are having further issues, please contact Support for troubleshooting. Important note: Please do not delete the Child Care Attendance app as that can cause data loss.
Below is a demonstration of the process of using the Staff Sign feature, Also included is details on how this affects what is displayed on reports like the Child Care Signature Log.
